Default Car stranded again!

Hi guys need some advice, its a tricky one. This time the car is in Belfast, private seller, i´m in spain. I think i´m happy to do the deal without seeing the car as it will be inspected by an indie that I know. Problem is how to I get the cash to the seller. I can´t give it to him before he releases the car to the car transportation company, and he won´t release the car until he gets the wonga...catch 22...mexican stand off! What do I do short of paying 300 quid for a flight over there to do the deal. Is there some sort of middle man like western union or paypall or something the banks do. We are talking of a 10 grand deal ish. (why do all my car deals look like classic nigerian scams!)

why wont you give him the money before he releases the car to the transportation company, when were you expecting to pay for the car, after your courier has taken it away? Would you let someone take a 10k car without paying? Just do a bank transfer of funds straight into his bank account, or send him a cheque and wait for it to clear then when you own the car you can take it away. Am I missing something here? If he only wants cash in hand for a value of 10k personally I wouldn't bother as it sounds dodgy, not that I would have that kind of money to spend anyway!

Only way i can see to do this would be to have him supply you with the vin number. write up an email confirming that funds will be transfered from bank A to bank B on **** date for the purchase of "Top secret car" - "insert description, reg number, vin number" when he replies confirming it you then have a contract. should something go wrong then you can give this email to your bank/police to deal with for fraud.

Why don't you visit www.scoobyireland.com and ask the guys there and describe the car or reg number I'm sure if he's not one of our members someone may know the car or owner and it could put your mind at rest to allow you to complete the deal.?
