Local club is doing a rolling road day, never been on the rollers before so just wondered if theres anything worth knowing first?
Do they put extra stress on the engine at all? I know they generally go up to the limiter in 4th (im guessing this is due to the 1:1 ratio of 4th?) Only ever hit the limiter a handfull of times and that was in 1st/2nd.

Just remember your engine is built to quite happily hit the rev limiter in every gear with no ill effects! That's what it's there for, the limiter is the highest safe limit the engine can run at, probably with a safety margin built in.
It's hard to remember that when your car is having the nads ragged off it and is screaming inside a small workshop though! I always console myself with the knowledge that it gets far worse stick off me out on the road anyway :P

Make sure the engine is warm after a drive, just up to operating temps. Gearbox will be nice and warm too. Make sure all tyres are up to the same pressure as normal (amazing how many run with lower pressures).
Apart from that just make sure they blip throttle on the run down as in real life you`d not shut off after a blip but slow down in gear.
And as said your butt will be twitching, as no matter how many times and cars you have on rollers, your ALWAYS worried lol.

Never had a car RR'd, but when I was at college we put my mates car on the RR, I remember the instructor fella a week before telling him to make sure his tracking is bang on.. I guess its to stop the car trying jump off the rollers..

On the rollers your car get no more stick than if on the road (maybe a little less).
Just make sure the following are looked at before hand.
Tyre pressure all OK
Wheel nuts are at the correct torque
Gearbox oil checked
Enough fuel (no less than 3/4 of a tank)
If after market fuel lines make sure they are tight.
The correct fuel is in the car.
Car is up to temps (RR op should do this on the rollers before a run anyway)
And general check over before hand.
Just enjoy it mate. Oh, forgot to add. Take a clean pair of pants with you as the noise will freak you out and your be worrying (most of the time over nothing)

Its a bit worrying when its on but like priviously said you will have pushed it more yourself on the open road before and who ever puts your car on the rolers would have put plenty of cars on there before and would stop the sesion if there is a problem.

when mine went on for the 1st time i walked out on warm up lol, but had to see it, the noise is incredible, watching the tvs showing the info on car is brilliant. i dont know about a rr day but i trusted jgm 100% when he mapped mine on rr.
as for guy doing a power run with little or no engine monitoring i dont know lol
unless they do monitor aswell as a mapper, and il stand corrected.

The most important issue (besides securing the car well obviously) is getting proper cooling to the car as there is no natural airflow that you would normally get on the road.
