Default Decat too noisy

Hi All,

I just bought my car and love it. For blasts around country roads it's awesome and the noise is great but, at motorway speeds it's a bit too loud.

is there a way of turning down the volume without replacing the exhaust?

Cheers,
Craig

Hi Si,

Can't remember but, I have the invoice in the history of the car. Will have a look. Would a bung restrict the airflow or just reduce the noise?

contaxt "AA Silencers" who will make you a custom race silencer and cut it into the system. Considerably lowering the noise with very little loss of flow + you probbably wouldn't notice it tbh.

Thanks all. Will have a look into it. I'm still a little torn with if I should or not. Will have to go on a long motorway drive to see if that makes my mind up

Sound proofing? Will cut the noise but will add weight.

Seems like I've got a few options to consider. Good news that it seems very possible and hopefully not too expensive.

A bung is the cheapest option, and dead simple to use when ever you want imho.Yes it does restrict the flow ,but you dont notice it when your cruising along at 70+ mph on a motorway & the reduction in noise is worth it.The restriction becomes more noticeable when your accelerating up through the gears on full boost & giving it 'plenty' with the bung in.
