Default Newbie advice please!

Hi everyone, just to introduce myself as I have recently brought a classic shape Impreza, and I could also do with some advice please.

Prior to me purchasing the car, it had nearly £3000 spent on a full engine strip and rebuild, and reshim of the cylinder heads at a garage.

After just 3 months and 1,800 miles, one rocker cover gasket is slightly leaking; I contacted the garage and they said this problem was present following the rebuild, and they repaired it. But this problem is now back. They say it is now out of warrantee so nothing can be done.

Not knowing a lot about these cars, is this a common issue or a sign of anything to worry about?

Thanks Tom

Yeah that's how I feel, but they said as the work was paid for by the previous owner, warrantees can't be carried over, and they only do a 3 month warrantee anyway.

Warranties certainly can be carried over... however, I don't think you'll have much joy unless you can prove the work was sub-standard.

Common problem mate, seem it many times. Not a major job to be honest.
