Just question, you are suffering(or suffered) with Camshaft CEL?
If yes,i would say after reset ECU this error code will disappear or just after few start disappear too, this error code on ALL WRX and mainly you can suffer if you are over revving engine or if you are hit the RPM limiter...

If its this case,i wouldn't buy new sensor, this happens again if you are hit limiter too with new sensor

I'm getting the cell when I put the foot down in 4th and 5th gear, say I'm sitting at 3000rpm on the motor way by the time I'm at 3.5 to 4000rpm the cell will flash I've already replaced the cam sensor so I'm going to try the crank sensor

You have any error code?

If you have OBD reader have look what error you have(can be stored as Historic error) and from this i would go,no just buying what you will not need at the end

http://www.subarupartsforyou.com/cp_...hp?partid=3083

Looks like it's the same part used for all types of Imprezas 1993 - 2011 so should be widely available from Subaru breakers. I have used the following breakers for a throttle position sensor and they were excellent and for a fraction of the price of new!!!-

IMPREZA BREAKERS LIMITED

HOWE PITTS,NORWICH ROAD

BROOKE,NR15 1HJ

Hi - before you buy - I would remove the existing crank sensor and check the wiring and connections and clean up. Maybe it's nothing more than that? cheers
