New member saying hi
Today i finally become the proud owner of a very nice Impreza 2000 turbo wagon.
Something i have wanted to do for a long time but never got around to it.
My name is John and i live in Doncaster South Yorks. I am a mechanic and specialise in Rover 75's and Mg Zt's mostly but will turn my hand to anything.
i finally got my car today after a 4 hours trip on a bus and a train to Lancashire but was well worth the trip. The car i have bought is a Mint 1998 subaru impreza 2000 turbo wagon. She has 118000 miles on her, a full impressive service history, good tax and test all for £1200 which i though was a good buy.
Couple of little niggles but i am sure i will pick someones brains on here

Thanks Guys
Hi Mate
Picked up the car earlier and was running spot on, ticking over as it should. Drove about an hour and came to a round about and i noticed it was struggling to tick over, was fluctuating between 350 and 700 rpms, then the check engine light came on as i was driving again. Just thought it was a bit strange.
Was thinking maybe idle control valve but i am not an expert on these cars at all. Also brakes seem very spongy, might just have a go at bleeding them first.
first mod to do though is it definatly needs a dump valve, sounds awesome though

Fluctuating idle sounds like maf to me. Take it off and give it a clean (be gentle though) please don't bother with a dta bov keep the recirc one as they work better with them.
