Question for Sti spec d owners past and present;

I have recently bought a 2006 sti spec d console and speedo cluster (from the same car being broken) to convert into my blobeye sti, now, having fitted them both today I have found out that the heater matrix controls light up GREEN whilst the clocks light up RED.!! I was expecting both to be lit red (as i know that wrx's light up green)

Is this correct that spec d's have different colours.???

Yep they light up green, You can get them done, Mine and my mates, My mate had his sone from a guy off scottish scoobs and i did mine myself but mine is the earlier dash so its a bit easier, Just swapping a few bulbs and its easy to change back

so you've painted your heater matrix to light up red and standard was green but with red clocks? and this is deffo a hawk sti spec d.?

are all the normal sti hawk consoles all red then or do some of them vary in colour like the spec d's

Presumably its just a Festoon change ? only messed with my classics, not looked at the Spec D's illumination

No nothing is painted, My spec-C dials didnt have the green tint they used to light up white so just swapped for red leds, Same with the I/C switches, Obviously the Speedo cluster is standard

The later dash as shown should be the same as yours is from a widetrack blob as i`m pretty sure that none of the newage heater controls had a red illumination as standard WRX, STI, Spec D etc...

As far as i know they guy who did it for my mate did not paint anything either, Just a matter of finding out what bulbs he needed as he did the whole interior, Hvac, I/C, Fog, Door switch, Ignition etc...

Ok cheers for that guys, it seems that the ones i have seen must of had their bulbs changed leading me to believe that all late blob/hawks sti centre consoles illuminated red.!
