AS said you really cant put a true value on plates because as folk say they are only worth what folk will pay for them and to be honest in my personal opinion the general p/plate market has suffered very badly within the last few years. at one time everyone was buying plates but not not so much now.
and yes whatever the companies offer half it and possibly half again and even then you may struggle to shift it.
personal opinion on your plates value- £250 and thats a very max, if its not on retention it will cost you or the new owner £105 for the privledge so this either bites into your £250 profit or the owner ends up paying a total off £355 ( £250+£105 fees )
will say it again how these reg companies survive is beyond me especially at the prices that they advertise the plates at !!
good luck !!

The fact is that there are more plates for sale than there are cars on the road!
Every 6 months, theres a fresh batch of thousands released to buy and plates are being devalued as a result. I recently sold a plate for less than it cost in 1997.
Unless you have a very desireable plate, or one that is particularly attractive to you to hold onto, the £80 transfer fee is making it too expensive to bother keeping them any more.
