Ever been caught speeding!

Can we also add to this list :
Super Unleaded vs Unleaded
How to reset the ECU
What MPG do you get
Think it would be a very good idea to have a seperate forum where these sort of questions can be kept.

This sounds like something from that GT3 forum (or what ever). I think that the only solution is that if people post the same thing twice (or stuff that has been posted before)they should be shot.

Just receive this E-mail, How true is this has anyone out there heard of this before!
Fellow car owners...
Just thought I would share this with you, as you know
I work in the Speeding fine department in Swindon's
Magistrate's Court and in the course of my
investigation into "fines, their payment methods, and
how points are automatically added against drivers
licences" we discovered something very interesting
"If You Get a Speeding Fine." This has been tried and
it works
... I tried to send this to everyone I know. I know
that for a fact it works so if you ever get in this situation,
you have an out.
We discovered that this procedure works nationwide.
Read it and try it, you have nothing to lose but the points on
your license. This is how it works:
If you get a speeding ticket or went through a red
light or whatever the case may be, and you are going
to get points on your licence, then there is a method
to ensure that you DO NOT get any points.
When you get your fine, send in the cheque to pay for
it and if the fine is say, 40, then make the cheque out
for 41 or some small amount over the fine. The system
will then have to send you back a cheque for the difference,
but here is the trick!
***DO NOT CASH THE REFUND CHEQUE!!!**
Throw it away!! Points are not assessed to your
license until all financial transactions are
complete. If you do not cash the cheque, then the
transactions are NOT complete. However, the system has
gotten its money and is happy and will not bother you
any more.
This information came to our attention from a very
reliable computer company that sets up the standard
database used by each county's computing system.
Good luck and share this with all your friends and
other family members as well!!!

Presumably the points are left pending on the system until they change the way the system works thus "awarding" all of your accumulated points at once?
Or is this a wind up?

Bit harsh for a '4-post history' Scooby Newbie - one strike then public humiliation two stikes and public flogging Three strikes and be forced to spend the night with Harj

Gary C,
How about a permanent suspension for people who behave like moderators on the GTF board? (Ask Blow Dog about this. I'm sure he will give you the full run down) RB5108 has had 4 posts. Chances are he hasn't seen the other versions of this. I'm really glad you aint a moderator here. We could quickly watch the scoobynet membership grow from 5000 to 1 in a number of days.
Now. Apologise or else go and stand in the corner until you can behave like a good boy

How about some sort of thing that is a fairly up to date list of things that we don't need posting...like the "no nos" on the 5 minute phone in on Soccer am on Sat morning on Sky
Like:
- this speeding thing
- wot's bumpsteer
- how loud is a SS exhaust
- why doesn't the Wax Wizz answer his phone
- ...with the reasons/the answers why its not worth posting
No idea where you'd put it tho' - could be a new forum I suppose???

Dave, you are right, this is turning into a good thread I get that sinking feeling.
Fast bloke, would you like to step put side? (I have to warn you, I am 5"8, nearly 11 stone and a black belt in origami)

Ed - origami salami. BANG BANG - you're dead
Dave I would threaten you as well but I've heard that you keep a big enough arsenal to supply the PLO, judean peoples front, the peoples front of judea et al. (And this is just the legal stuff)
Cem - Don't feel obliged to stick up for me. My skin is thicker than pig **** so I can take it. (I've heard people mention that my skull is thicker than my skin)

There's only so many times I can put up with seeing the same Internet BS and myths before my head explodes. This had been posted on IWOC (at least twice), i-chat, Scoobynet (twice or more), RSOC (IIRC), numerous other lists and has gone round work.
How about people engaging brain before engaging keyboard and checking to see if it's been posted recently or using that link called Search up in the right corner.
Rant over.
Chris.

No worse than the type of thread that asks for advice which when given the asker knows already and thumbs his nose at those offering adviceeg help with road tax question. Must be OK if the user is well known
