Hi

I know we dont but these cars for their fuel economy and I dont care as love every minute I drive mine

But ..... I have had her recently serviced and did a MPG reading by filling tank up and then refilling, did a mixture of town and motorway driving and got an MPG of 22.8 - is this good ??

They can be good I guess on a good run I get 40 miles to a tenner but the norm seems to be 20-30 miles round town. Typically. Mananed to do 110 to 25 quid last week not sure if that's good or not but its definitly a lot better than my mates sti and both are modified to the same sort of levels, mid mods.

+1

imprezas are crap on fuel no matter what.

i get 200 miles to a tank on my 04 sti and i was aware of this before purchasing and i know its crap but to get anymore mpg i have to drive it off turbo and below 2k revs so what is the point of having 300+ bhp if your going to drive like that?

The fuel tanks are kidney shaped and not really accurate around the halfway mark. Fill it up to the brim, reset the tripometer and wait till the fuel light comes on again.

Remember these cars are crap around town and hate short journeys

Subaru should do what honda have done, hybrird. then you could have best of both worlds, or fit LPG.

If you read my original post you'd know that I know they are crap on fuel, I wouldn't change my driving style at all because I do like the turbo hence why I got a turbo car........
My question was is 22 good for an impreza ?!

If they **** you off so much why do you post in them ??

Question

How does the app work out how much fuel is consumed for each journey? Do you fill the tank up after each trip?

Yeah always fill her up

I wouldn't say I was overly heavy on the right pedal, she's mostly say at 80 on the way to work and back which is approx 30 miles.

I'll be driving up to MK in a few day and will get a figure for that trip

The car is 100% standard, that may have been a more spirited tankful, even so I've never seen over 20 or anywhere near the 20+ figures some people claim to be getting.

If you have an i phone there is a little free app called "mpg free",all though its simple to work out your own mpg, litres x 4.54 then divide that by the miles,I get 14-16 out of mine, and it's been mapped

To get under 20mpg I`d have to drive it like I stole it....everywhere! Even driving around and having `fun` I still get 20 - 22.

Do you fill up and enjoy the scoob?
Or do you fill up a more economical car and hate the thing?
