Default Facelifting?

Hi people,

Whats our thoughts on facelifting a prefacelift?

Making it look fresher or killing off another early Impreza?

Think it's fine either way. If you'd rather facelift go for it, it's still a classic Scoob at the end of the day and if you keep the old parts you can always return her to standard at any time.

Personally I prefer the look of the facelifted cars, but there isn't much in it. The pre-facelifts look fine too.

Cheers Boys, mnem1c your car really is night and day in those pics. Looks great

How much did it set you all back if you mind me asking?

I would probably start off with the headlights, bonnet and grill first, not too bothered about the bumper at the moment.

Thats what i did. Changed the bumper at a later date. The only thing thats tricky is finding parts in the right paint code and in good nic. Also when you chance your bonnet try and get an alloy one. There alot lighter. I found my parts through breakers and ebay. Bonnet around £150, grill £50, standard lights £50. Hope this helps

Mine is a V3 so got later headlights, bonnet and grill. Was going to change the bumper for a later one and the newer grill but just added a JUN style splitter instead and was happy with the look.

Both are nice to be fair, I guess the good thing as mentioned is that you can swap it if you fancy a change again. And I can vouch for the alloy bonnet it weights soooo much less it's not even funny how heavy the other one is!.

I would facelift without a doubt, i did it on my first wrx, crystal headlights, grille, but used a cf bonnet, looks so much nicer, and suits the lines of the classic so much better

I'm happy with my pre facelift and wouldn't change it, but admit the facelift cars look nicer, but I'd just keep mine and buy an rb5 or sti6 if I wanted to go that way, a fast prefacelift seems to surprise people more as it looks more innocent..

Exactly why mine will always keep its preface lift just to be different.

Tbh I like both, but you hardly see any pre-facelift cars around and tbh I prefer them.
I did think about putting facelift lights and grille on as that can look ok, but in the end I thought no and stuck with my preface lift car.

I prefer facelift looking cars unless it's collectible like a 555 etc then leave well alone.

Mine will always be staying pre-facelift.

As above, they're becoming a rarer sight by the day. Think I've seen one in nice condition on the road in the last 6+ months.

Personal I think, but like said, keep all your bits and then when you come to see it's a plus point just incase someone like it before the facelift.
