Here's an odd one.
I went to view this car 2 weeks ago with a mate and it was in Coventry and it was up for £2600 and I was a standard car with only wheels, induction kit and exhaust and now it's appeared on eBay for sale in Birmingham with a forged engine etc for nearly 2 grand more!
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MODIFIED-3...source=message
When we viewed it the car was so many shades of white it was silly and it'd been badly repaired at both ends and it had no history but now it's miraculously got loads of receipts etc and the seller talks like he's had it for ages! It's not mint at all and it's certainly no show car and we walked away because it wasn't even worth £2k!

I reckon the seller must have seen this because it'd been on there for days until I mentioned it!
Not a hope in hell of getting that money once someone has viewed it unless they believe the lies and think they are buying something they are not! The bonnet for instance was steel and it was going rusty! The slam panel hadn't been replaced and it was as straight as the manhattan skyline!

The sad thing is that too many buyers would believe the lies and they would have been taken in because they don't know what they are looking for and by the time they find out they've been done it's too late
Luckily I'd already viewed this car and knew it and my mate found it again It's distinctive so we know it's the same car but the claims are ridiculous given what the seller 2 weeks ago told us and what we saw
To be honest this car wants a lot of paintwork because the paint it somewhere between bright white and yellow and back again and the panel gaps etc leave something to be desired! I wouldn't give £1500 for it let alone £4500

To be fair, considering it was previously a 5 door Escort, shaped by the same elephant in the Peugeot 206 advert, I think it was quite decent
The mixture of colours on the bodywork, some spray canned, various (roughly 7) shades of white, and plus the vitally important Tippex'd real spoiler, were it's only real downfall.
I would have bought it but some of the brighter panels made my teeth look yellow and strangely others made them look bling!!!!!

Wait 'til you see it in the flesh and you'll start to recognise what's wrong in those photos! When it was first advertised in Coventry there was only 1 photo and it wasn't great so we went along for a look anyway.
Brief list of what's wrong:
The engine wasn't forged
Standard injectors
There was no history
No certificate for the alarm
Steel bonnet (rusting and marks from previous stickers)
door shuts wonky
Slam panel bent to hell
roof drilled for the ariel
nearside rear quarter badly repaired with a bulge where the rear quarter meets the rear door
rattle can painted rear spoiler
rubber trim for the splitter painted and peeling
skirts on one side a yellow shade of white
all paint shades do not match across the whole car, it goes from bright white to a yellow white
rear arches tatty with the corners painted black
That's all I can remember considering we viewed it nearly a month ago but you get the picture

I do like the wheels a lot!!
Are they actually BBS? Would they clear Brembos?
The car looks quite good in the photos - I wish my manifold was that red rather than silver with a few flakes of red here and there

Gonna say the pics look nothing like your describing NOT calling you a lire! it's amazing what white does.
I had a 1972 camper that was brown and used a roller to coach paint it - up close it was crap but it stopped the rust. On ebay it looked amazing but I was honest and the buyer & myself were amazed how photo's lie!
But how do you explain the Dyno run?

As for the paint it looks a hell of a lot worse when you see it but if you look closely enough at the photos you can see how bad the paint match is. At least this seller has used some t-cut to get rid of the rust lines down the grill from the bonnet I'm not the only one to go and see this car, I was with v5 man and he doesn't speak very highly of it.
