Just been hit up the **** by some prat in a merc.
Only had my spec d a little over 6months.
Damage wasnt major, bumper cracked and bent irons at worst.
The fella owns a local business and has agreed to pay for the damages without going through insurance so what i would like to know is roughly how much doyou think it will cost to repair?
Before anyone suggests it, i will not be claiming whiplash etc as imho i think that this is a big con and half the problem in this country.
Thanks
stevie

I had the floor carpet up and there are no creases etc
I work in a garage as a tec/mot tester but we are purely mechanics .
Will take it to a few places for quotes at the weekend.
Just wanted a ballpark figure
cheers though

Your looking at about £100 for paint unless it's wr blue and a new bumper skin I'd of thought no more than 250 as I take it the spec d used bogo bumpers
I remember bumping my p1 at around 5mph literally I cracked the bumper and bent the bumper bar and the sodding bar was more than the bumper from Subaru of course in total it cost me 500 quid paint was expensive as there is more than one shade of blue and it takes apparently 9 diff shades to make it
Get a proper quote go to someone good who has a good background I've seen some pap paint jobs from so called good sprayers lol
As with any paint make sure it matches silver black and wr blue are a nitemare
Good luck
Dave

As above, use someone local that you trust.
Strangley, the local Barry Boyz will probably know who is good and who isn't.
Then go and get quotes, but DO get them to look for bodywork damage.
I know, for a start, that rear end damage is often what STARTS the rust in the wheelarch on Scoobs

Bit ironic that there is a national accident helpline advert under his post!
Nice one for not claiming "whipcash" and contributing to the rising insurance costs.
Good luck in getting it repaired.

Rear bumper from Subaru is around £240, not painted. Not sure if that comes with any thing like the brackets or the plastic bits underneath each end, I would imagine not.

my advice don;t try and bit part it, get it done by a reputable garage who will get the parts themselves and do a proper job.
If you bit part it and have any further issues your screwed.
dont forget your not paying the bill
