Newbie saying Hi and hoping for buying advice
Hi Guys I'm about to join the world of owning an impreza.
Had land rovers for the last few years but wrote it off a couple of weeks ago and been in the market for a new car that has to be an estate with dogs and kids.
Anyway tried out all sorts over the last few days then went out in an Impreza today........I became obvious pretty quick that I want one!
I went out in a 2003 wrx today and have another to go and look at tomorrow. Both have full histories with them but is there anything in particular I should be looking for ie common faults? One is at a garage and the other is an 2002 private sale. I know with the land rovers there are things that always go is there something with these I should look for?
Thanks in advance for any tips or advice you can give and can't wait to buy one hopefully in the next few days

Hi mate! Welcome! I think if you look through the last few pages of posts I think someone posted the same question, so there should be some sound advice on that thread mate. Usual stuff really mate, check wheel arches for rust, listen out for knocking from rear suspension and listen for any knocking from the engine, make sure the clutch is ok and see if the owner warms it up and what fuel they have been using. Also check for un-even shut lines and over spray and go over the service history with a fine tooth comb! With the private sale make sure you do a full valid HPI check!
Hope this helps!

Hi Mate,
same as above.
Make sure you get to see it start from cold as well as warm
I bought mine when it was warm, never saw it run cold.
First morning after buying had a right swine of a job getting it started and, then i had to start to buy parts after day 1.
Get as much history as you can, and dont take the sellers word for any mods unless there is written proof.
I learnt the hard way as i just wanted one so bought one.
Maybe one day it will be right. lol
Still brings a smile to my face though every time i drive it
