Dave,

Re: "None of us own Scoobynet..."

I suspect that SimonDB could be seen as the legal owner... for without him it would not be. Period. Thanks SDB.

Simon de Banke, congratulations on the very fair and even-handed way you have handled the closing of threads which a) had served their intended purpose, and b) had they remained open could well have led to trouble for ScoobyNet.

We all shoulder a responsibility to keep this BBS legal, honest and decent, and not just rely on the Webmaster stepping in when things get hot. This site is nobody's personal soapbox, but it gives every member of the ScoobyNet community an opportunity to air their views.

That opportunity also brings with it a weighty responsibility to be fair and reasonable. Make your point clearly and factually. Job done. To labour the point indefinitely is not fair, nor does it serve any further purpose.

But most worrying of all, it could get ScoobyNet into serious grief. If memory serves correctly, it is an exactly similar situation which got the original ScoobyNet closed down.

Cool

Speaking as author of one of the threads - SDB and I have had a discussion off BBS on this - I am OK with the fact that my thread was closed (prior to the issue being resolved).

None of us own Scoobynet and I made it quite clear to Simon from the beginning that if my post caused a problem, close or delete it.

After all, if Scoobynet 2 went the way of Scoobynet 1, where would Pete Lewis have the forum to wind me up about gold wheels........

Yeh me too......I dread to think what I'd do if scoobynet went, it's taught me a hell of a lot about my scoob and given me somewhere to express my muppet tendencies

I'm with you all the way as well SDB !!!

Anything which poses a potential threat to scoobynet needs to be dealt with...and you have dealt with it in a more than reasonable manner.

....Muppet tendencies which have, in such a short space of time, become truly world class (that's a compliment)
