Not cheap, but worth spending if you want to do it properly...

I've had cheap ones and they have left marks on the paintwork - this is going to be used on a freshly resprayed car especially given the reviews I've read

Same here, it seems that even the best ones will still trap moisrure which can play havoc with the lacquer.

Would be good to hear from someone who does keep their car covered for long periods outside.

Mine sat for six months while I was in Afghan, and apart from the damage done covering it previously with lacquer that hadn't properly cured, the car was clean and dry. I'd had damp problems previously while uncovered and the cover helped. As long as it is clean before you cover it there'll be no issues - better than tree sap, bird cr4p and rotten fruit which are the usual suspects by me

That's good to hear thanks mate. The other thing that puts me off is the likelyhood of it blowing around in the wind. I know it's not going to much much, but it'll invariably move a bit and i've heard of it rubbing off paint on panel edges etc.

With my universal one I fashioned some straps with bungee cord and some small carabiners, the new tailored one I expect will be a snugger fit and comes with straps with snap buckles all attached to it so I expect there to be minimal movement, especially as it should be snug to the car and not hanging like a sail

Hmmmm, interesting. May have to give one of these a whirl then. I can always keep an eye on things and take it off every now and then to check.

Thanks .

I always use a cover. I bought it from Tesco Lotus (the Thai version of Tesco).

Does the trick, it's breathable and stops cats jumping on my car/bird**** etc.....
