Why does STI 7 weigh so much?
they gave us more bhp(finally!) and brought away her light weight...no news in this way

Body is 250% stronger, I must admit 1470kg and 265bhp and the classic sti was 1285kg and ~280bhp makes you think. I guess thats why it doesnt break 5 seconds 0-60. The body is 250% stronger though.

Cheers

...less drivetrain losses though so the difference is offset. Don't know by how much though....

Time will tell.

Wink

Its all in the gear ratios and the 6 speed box does the STI7 justice

Apparently made it stronger to carry my lardy body The Sti7 does feel stonger firmer on the road but does suffer from being Lardy just needs the extra torque of PPP
and they have a new posistion for the bright button

Not sure about a 6 speed box in a classic STI because there are other issues to take into account, and boxes aint cheap but from what I have seen gears 1 to 5 on my MY00 RA are very similar to 1 to 5 on the new STI, ratio wise especially 5th. For me, what is missing is a 6th gear for motorway cruising which the new STI has. Maybe a new STI owner could tell us what 1000 rpm in 5th is, mines about 19-20mph.

cheers
