Default Mid life crisis

Hello there
Im just new to this site after having a mid life crisis and buying a 2006 Sti !!

My question is, which model is it, as its a blobeye shape with a 2l engine with the prodrive kit fitted, but when i look online the 2006 model is a 2.5l

Does this mean its a MY05?

What about the version number as i want to get the timing belt, tensioners etc done and not sure which set to buy from jap imports.

Could someone please furnish me with all the information as regards to model, version etc.

Thanks, please be nice to an old man, , who cant stop smiling every time he drives it!!

It's either an import or it's a late 2005 model with the 2.0 in it. I'd assume that some were registered late and there should be some 2006 models with a 2.0

Versions stopped in 2000. if your car is on a 06 plate and is a blobeye it is most likely going to be a MY05 the best way to tell is the rear wheel arch Plastic extension and the interior dash panel should be in silver.

As for timing belts it will be the same from MY02-MY07 along with all the other parts..

This is a MY06-my07

Does your car have the same front end?

this is the blobeye front

the late sti i.e. my05 on will have these rear arch extensions.

all uk spec blobeyes are 2.0l the later hawkeyes are 2.5l

but the jap imports are 2.0l

the blobeye 05 and hawkeye had a revised centre console like this but in silver.

the earlier blobs had this centre console in silver

Where did you get the front grill set and are they easy to fit?

you have a my05 sti then, in my opinion the best of the uk specs as they have the 2.0 engine and the 6 speed dccd box,
the later 2.5 engine had some reliability issues.
mine had a silver centre console but i had it painted gloss black.
they are zunsport grills from scoobyparts.com, the top grill is simple clip in job.
the bottom one require a little drilling but is simple, they do a smaller clip in lower grill but i much prefer the full length version.
