Could be wrong mate but thought 3points stays on your licence for 3years but Dvla clear them off on the fourth year. Sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

So they are valid for three years, get taken off by DVLA after four years, yet insurance companies want to know for five years? How the hell do they know in the fifth year when you have a clean license?

You have to ask for them to be removed at 4 years. Have to send your licence back etc. Bit of a pointless (excuse the pun) exercise tbh

Renewed my licence (photocard had expired) and my points were over three years old but not four, were hand written on the old counterpart. Thought they might not put them on the new one but the miserable cvnts did

the other way around mate... beleive me, i KNOW!!

for the purposes of totting up/fines they remain for 3 yrs and are due for consideration to be physically removed from the licence after 4yrs, for insurance, most companies want to know about points dating back 5 yrs.

unless you have to produce your licence in court and they can see your case history. this WILL go against you when mags see that youve been a naughty boy umpteen times over the last 10 yrs..best to get them removed as sson as because then it looks nice and pretty should you have the pleasure of handing over to a mag.
