I cant believe the rudeness and arrogance of some people.

I contacted a certain company today to enquire about the cost and benefits of an ECU upgrade for my Scoob and to make arrangements to have the work done.

I then found myself talking to an extremely abrasive, rude and arrogant individual who when I suggested that he had a rather strange customer relations technique, told me he didnt care what I thought, apolgised, then slammed the phone down on me

Why do some people have to behave like this? Is it not possible to be both intelectually superior and polite at the same time?

Oh by the way....can anyone recommend, from experience, an ECU upgrade company where being patronised and insulted is not part of the package?

OK, hands up everyone who just *knows* what company this is all about

Stratman, sorry to hear that, don't take it personally though. Happened to some before.

Not going to say anymore as Simon will hit me with the baby oil bottle again

Let's not mention who we think this might be about as, a) we might be wrong, and b) it becomes potentially libellous (and we are now required by law to present your personal details in cases like this should it be taken further).

It makes no difference who it is, but I have to say, I cannot understand how someone can be such low life, and be so insecure as to have to resort to that kind of rudeness with customers.

People who have a total disrespect for all around them are pond life IMHO and deserve to go skint.

best regards

Simon

After a similar conversation I took my business to PowerStation instead - have not looked back since

And there was me thinking that I was the only one that upsets him!!

Stratman, Sorry to hear that your initial contact hasn't been a good one, but if it's still the product that you're interested in then sent me an e-mail, and I will put you in contact with someone that is much more accommodating & willing to talk to you like your another human being.

Phil

I for one would like to know which company deals with potential customers like this, its important to know who the poor dealers are as well as knowing the good ones, particularly if you are new to the Subaru

Cool

stratman,
totally agree with you on this one as i too had a similar experience, (although the phone was not put down on me !! ). afterwards i felt that i was not worthy of their product .their pr needs to be improved , but to be honest their product is meant to be one of the best ! and i just might be treating myself soon.

Unhappy

Ive been in the same situation with I think the same Tuner and the comments I had on the phone were "Do you Understand English?? I don't think you do as I am the technical person not you!"

Anyway im a happy person.

Red face

A business that treats it's customers (if they get that far) or potential customers like this deserves to go out of business

I'm just once again amazed that the guy with the *real* talent doesn't do something about his "underling's" attitude problem. It must be costing him a fortune in lost business (which of course is totally deserved)

If and when I go for an ECU upgrade, I'm almost tempted just to phone them to *see* how bad it really is before phoning someone who is worthy of my dosh

I don't think this thread can serve any good purpose any longer.

It seems like we all agree on how customers should be treated. If ANY companies are reading this and think that they do at times treat customers in this way, they should do the intelligent thing, and take the criticism like a man and do something about it.

I'm going to close this thread now, but I think it was important to leave open to this point.

Best regards
