Cheap oil / filter change
Saw this on another site and I realise the oil grade might not be for everyone, but for Fully synthetic Castrol & filter in mine, the price is only £30
Only down side, is, I changed oil around 500 miles ago....hope it's still on in a couple of months

I use National Tyres for 6 monthly oil changes in wife's Zafira. I get a £5 off voucher too, so for a sump full of 5/30 and a Champion filter, £36 or so.
The downside is that they can charge £11.75+ VAT to remove the undertray, which adds considerably.

magnatec
no bud i used it for 2 oil changes and about 5000m of daily use
when up mapping a simtek with a friend i mentioned it to Bob rawle that id just changed the oil on my previous scoob,a wagon with magnatec 10w40 and he told me thats its unsuitable and the reason why is excessive carbon buildup in the sleeve bearings of (my particular) turbo due to it not being able to withstand the high temp.
thats information is good enough for me not to use it now, each to there own though ,

Ive been using magnetec for 4 years plus and not had any issues with deposits. Used mobil 1 for 1 oil change and big ends went within 1 month. Fitted sti cdb and been on that for 15 months back on magnetec and no issues wot so ever. Still got original TD05 and mileage is 173k. Do change oil and filter ever 5k though. So guess that helps.
PS anybody remap ESL live in Southend ,Essex area

On the subject of Castrol Magnetec, I just rang my local Subaru main dealer for a price on an oil filter and sump washer, and he mentioned they also had the oil in stock and that they used ... Castrol Magnetec!

magnatec
castrol magnatec is only a a3/b4 spec oil i believe and does not have the benefits of a fully synthetic oil.
Having written that its each to their own,if anyone else chooses to use it thats their choice and im just posting what he said to me .you pays your money and takes your choice.
Bob suggested shell helix but im actually using a different 5w40 fully synthetic at the moment.

+1 here for magnatec,6 yrs of oil changes and no issues here.
i suppose it depends how you use the car and what bhp you have, who actually drives on full boost for any longer than 10/15 mins at a time ?
if you do,fair play, cant afford to myself LOL
