photoshop advice please
I was looking at the various photoshop programs available - photoshop X4, Elements etc and don't know which one I need.
All I want to do is modify pictures of my car (front/side/back etc) with different designs of decals by "drawing" on the pictures.
No doubt there is some expensive hyper program that will allow you then to spin the car so you can see what it looks like from any any angle.
Which version do I need ?

i use Paint.NET
Very similar to photoshop with all the functions you will probably need
and its free!
Or you could try GIMPshop which is also free and practically identical to photoshop right down to hotkeys etc.

I use Micrografix which was a freebie software package with an old scanner I bought about 15 yrs ago.
CS5 Photoshop is the kiddy to get but really technical.
I done these with the free basic photoshopping package.

Thanks for all the info
Those are way more than I want to do Skullfudge !!
I'll look into micrographics and the free photoshop package.
I expected that the 3D spin program would be way out of my budget DonNedly, but I thought I'd throw it in and see if there was a cheap prog available. I'll look into Paint.net especially as its my favourite price
I was hoping to copy something like this design which looks great on black/white
http://www.damd.co.jp/products/subaru/impreza01_se.html
onto a pic of mine to see how it looks blue/white - which I suspect will not look good or even acceptable !!
But generally play about with shapes/colours etc

If you are familiar with photoshop then GIMPshop will be very easy transition as its nigh on identical but i couldn't get it working on Windows 7 so gave up and use paint.NET now to compare wheels colours etc.

Something like this tutorial will help

Photoshop is mainly used, but some other programs like Gimp or Paint.net will do same job.

Wow - that's amazing !
Downloaded gimp 2.
No tutorials so did a search.
This may take some time .....................................
Choice is spend a frustrating 10 hours failing to do anything with this or get someone to show me the basics.
Option 2 is the way to go I think
