v1 and v2 are mechanical cable driven speedos , v3 on ??? are electronic with a vss in the gearbox afaik

My V3 STi has a cable driven clock.

Straight fit no issue, electric speedo for the JDM's was introduced with the version 4 and facelift dash

that was what was confusing me as my ver 3 sti import are the same as my mates ver 2 wrx v limited apart from the carbon surround and redline at 8 instead of 7 and mine are also cable driven?
