Default hi every one?

hey, my name is Tom. I am new to the forum so dont know if i am in the right area for this brief introduction

I was a member of the Supra forum for 4 years up until getting shut of my pride and joy last year. Eventually got the car running 568bhp, on a t71 single turbo, 800cc injectors, 90mm throttle body, greddy plenum, etc etc....

enough about previous cars dunt want to bore you.

I now have got a Impreza turbo, I know nothing about these cars at all, but what i do know is the car i have just bought isn't standard by any means... the car seems to have a bigger ihi turbo, with straight through blitz nur spec exhaust system, maybe you guys could help me figure this car out if post pics etc...

one main problem, it hits fuel cut in every gear on WOT, so this is the first issue that needs sorting. Sorry about the big intro and probably in the wrong part of this forum but I will get use to it am sure.

car is a project and going be stripped and built, i own a car bodyshop/garage so it is going to be built right

thanks for your time reading this look forward to meets and events

Hi and welcome you came to the right place

sounds like its over boosting and hitting the ecu fuel cut, it could be that its not been mapped, if so take it easy until you find out if its been mapped or not, perhaps give a bit more info on the car, MY etc.

MY = Model Year.

What ECU is fitted? It's in the passenger footwell, pull the carpet back and it's under a metal plate.

Got an under bonnet pic, that might show anything untoward.

Fuel cut's a horrible thing, I experienced that when I first had my car before replacing the ecu, it was like hitting a brick wall

Not sure on that, but, if it's a 95 car, it's got the wrong engine fitted.

Just visually, it's got the wrong inlet manifold and intercooler for starters, shouldn't have a plug leads on that year. Later brake fluid reservoir, hard to tell but the MAF sensor looks correct. Maybe saying the engine was incorrect was a bit harsh, I was posting on the hop though.

Have you checked what ECU is fitted?

Ideally, you're going have to get someone to have a look at it. Also the gubbins under the back seat could be a relay if it's got something like a Bosch 044 fuel pump fitted.

Like I say, I think you'll have to get someone closer to have a proper look at it for you mate.

when i get it back on the road i am open to suggestions on where to take the car for mapping/looking at etc. Like I have said previously give me a supra and i can tell you anything, but impreza's are absolutey new to me. I am thinking i have jumped in the deep end with this car especially knowing absolutley nothing about its origins and what has been done to it previous to me owning....

Yup, that's the ECU.

Old thread

I'm getting the impression that your car isn't what you think it is.
