Thats someone talking out their ****
Cat and terzo's were 208bhp standard, you can get the PPP fitted which pushes them to 245bhp on 97 ron fuel, RB5's come in 2 guises, the WR version which has the PPP fitted from the factory, thats 250bhp on 97 ron or 237bhp on 95 ron, and the non-wr which is 215bhp.

what ever its got it prob ain't got it anymore as bhp will deminish in time............tony is right though 208bhp as per a uk 2000 engine............

If you want to make it faster get a decat exhaust system, walbro and prob put the panel filter back in to save on any maf issues.......then its all about a good remap

after that the worlds your oyster.......how much you want to spend........if theres no remapping license for it the above will come to close to 1k already

PPP is the prodrive performance pack, a 2k extra that replaced the ecu, on the 97/98 cars it added the following parts:-

Ramair panel filter
Prodrive exhaust and backbox (including decat centre section)
Blue intercooler pipe
PPP ecu
Uprated brake pads.

No, your car is pretty stuffed to do much with tbh as you cannot map your ecu so thats a replacement ecu if you want safe "bigger" bhp.
I would go with an exhaust, swap back to a recirc valve and get something to monitor any det/gauges and do something with the brakes, you dont really want to go too ott with a limited edition car

My car is a Uk version of the WRX apparently (sorry for the none technical terms)

It had a Front Mount Intercooler, 05 Turbo (bigger than standard) plus Cone Filter ish Air Filter. I had it rolling roaded a few months ago and it was reading 256bhp.

When I checked on Google aswell as on here I was suprised to find the BHP as standard was 208....

What seems to happen even though the upgraded parts have been fitted, is the ECU is still at standard settings, so the upgraded parts are not being used to their potential, if that makes sense.

I can only tell you from personal experience that the Re Mapper that did my own car yesterday (Andy Forrest), sat in the passenger seat with head phones which were attached to the engine, laptop and a probe in the exhaust after putting a Base Map onto my ECU. After around half an hour of him pressing buttons galore my once quickish car was different beyond belief. Put your foot down and i feel pushed in the drivers seat which I have never felt before....

As to what can you do to your car to make it faster...... how much money have you got? the possiblities seem to be endless.

Take a look at the links I have posted for you
