Old classic vs modern fuel efficient diesal (is pslewis about?).
Well I was thinking of selling my classic wagon and getting something more respectable like a BMW 320d or something.
But I'm not sure the sums add up.
I guess my classic does 20 mpg or so?
What's a diesel gonna be? 40 mpg min?
Say I do 5000 miles a year (I do less).
About £1750 fuel on the classic and half that for the diesel saving ~£850 quid (just roughly - I know diesel costs a tad more).
Yeah insurance would be a lot better though. Maybe save at least £500.
Thing is my classic is worth bugger all, maybe I just just run and abuse it for 2-3 years until it is knackered?
How much would a £15k diesel depreciate in 2-3 years? Might brake down and cost a packet to fix? I could just put the Classic in the bin if something bad went wrong.
Where's pslewis?

Anyway he bought one vs a new Impreza (or something), to save about £150 a year running costs.
