Stupid STI Question
Ok guys whirring noises question
Ive never had an sti till this one, i had a WRx-S and never really noticed it but cant remember.
The only thing i can match the sound to is, if youve ever played Gran Turismo Forza and youve just upgraded your car to the best gearbox Transmission and you get that racing whirr from it.
I can hear that Kind of nothing major just as ive always owned FWD cars prior im always weiry to stuff like that.
Im presuming though its more likely the 4wd driveshaft. its only very quiet but its there
anyway im taking it for its first 10k service in the next 2 weeks so im going to ask for a road test and others just to settle ones old ageing mind

I noticed the same in my STI when I first got it. It normal for an STI, the gearbox is built to take quite considerable torque so is engineered in a suitable manner and is a little noisy/clunky at times.
I found the noise reduced after changing to Millers CRX 75w90 NT oil.
