Hawkeye headlight mods
Looking at doing (or having done) the HID and Black headlight mod on the hawk. Can anyone recommend a good reliable HID kit for the wrx (there are so many for sale on the bay and other sites) or advice when doing the black headlight mod?
Thanks

Most hid kits are the same so just get a slimline ballast one nut do remember the mot is tightening up next year and you may have to swap back, best bet would be to get some sti headlights but not a cheap option at all. You would have to be brave to put the lights in the oven if a first time as could work out expensive if you make an error

Seriously mate imo you would be much better just finding some hawk factory hid lights they are designed to be hid so will be much better, ive heard stories of after market hid's melting the headlight units and as said above you will have problems at mot time.

All WRX hawkeyes did indeed have HID's. (Easy enough to tell by the washers in the front bumper).
Non-turbot had Halogens as std, with HID option.
I still have a pair of hawkeye HID headlights in the cellar. Spent 1yr on the car (<10k miles) so lenses are pretty much imaculate. All bulbs/ballasts are there - only issue is that the drivers side unit has a broken mounting tang (where the front grille element clips onto it). PM me if you are interested / want to see pics.
