Hey everyone!
Hi guys and girls, Nooby here had a quick look around just now and this site looks good! better than most forums! any way Im looking for some advice really in a few months im going to be looking at getting myself an Impreza, always been a huge fan of them and loved them in the rally, trouble is I dont know a great deal about them and what various engines are available in the Impreza, and what kind of tuning options are available, any information at all would be an awesome help or if you can forward me onto any previous threads etc. many thanks guys, Adam.

Lmao yes...I do have a sister and once a scooby is purchased would consider trade for tuning options!! well my budget is going to be around £5-6 realistic, ive tested the water with a few Ins companies and tried insuring a wrx sti think it was the 265? i think it was, which came out at £1980 which im willing to take but would like to get it down a tad if not i set out to buy this car with £2000 as a max insurance budget so can do, and finally im 21, but by the time I come to buy/insure the car I will be 22 so maybe insurance will drop a touch more!

Worth trying Keith Michaels or Sky Insurance (brokers) as they specialise in these cars. £2k's a lot to give to an insurance company! Maybe you could wait till you have a year's NCD?

Just a bit of a dampener, if your going to modify then most (if not all) insurance co's will refuse you insurance at your age, its hard enough getting insured on an STI under 25 (you may well find that A plan and KM wont do it), so you may be better aiming for a wrx ppp to start with (which is similar power to a standard 2ltr UK STI) then give it a couple of years until your 25 before going for an STI.

I got a good quote from Aviva recently, A plan and Keith Michaels wouldn't even insure me....30 yrs old, 8 years NCB, no points, 06 wrx, MANCHESTER - not a good place for insurance.
