I brought mine without sat nav option to keep the cost down for my03sti

Pioneer AVH-3200DVD

They are around £250 you can get them with or without blue tooth. The touch screen is ok but its not made by Apple if you get my drift . Front SDcard and usb slot make it perfect for flash media I play all my tunes from an 8GB SD card and it fits snugly in the car , actually looks like it belong their.

You might aswell go for a budget model, you can pick them up for 120. Mine worked fine for 2 years, and if you do have a problem you can still get 60 pounds for a faulty one.

I'm looking at a few on ebay, want one that has the usb port for ipods at the back as i have the cable stashed away in the compartment between the seats and through the dash to the back of the stereo.

You can pay as much as you want lad, only thing i would reconmend is make sure you can remove the face on it or less your going to get theifing gits robbing it.

The best headunit that I have come across is the Kenwood DNX 5220BT.

Touchscreen and you can get the ipod and bluetooth units to go with it.

You can also get the reverse camera and if you want to pay more the GPS version.

Good quality unit.

Thanks for the pictures fellas much appreciated. Removable screen would be handy but would imaging i'd pay a lot for that. Not really fussed about GPS but DVD/iPod is essential. I have often seen the flip screens on ebay go for £200 but have gone off these as I would like the unit to look like it came with the car more than driven through a branch of Halfords.

How much is that MEOS and how do the discs go in?

Thanks for your help guys

Surprising how no Alpines mentioned, they used to be the bees knees when I first started driving, now all the other brands and some unknowns have pulled their fingers out and produced value quality units

I agree.

Another option possibly is that the OEM double din units from the 2010 Foresters were being sold on ebay.
I know of 2 people that ave bought them fairly cheaply

Search the bay for Subaru GPS, fitted one of these to my hatch a few months back and more than happy for the money, I belive its the same unit as fitted to the new Legacy, ipod connection, blutooth, nav, sd, dvd, does pretty much everything and for £300 notes.

I like the look of that, looks huge! Has a navi disk slot as well. Dumb question but I assume all double din units are the same size only this looks bigger than the units pictured above. Does have the benefit of looking standard to the car as well. Thanks for the pics.

No worries, now as for size, it replaced the standard unit in my hatch like for like, however if you put a Kenwood etc in the hatch you have to buy a blanking adaptor so unfortunately you may be right and this may be too wide.

Give me 5 mins on ebay and If I can find one similar for you I'll report back!

As for looking standard, one of the main reasons I got it.
