Any reason I cant use an engine out of an automatic WRX in my manual WRX?

Default Any reason I cant use an engine out of an automatic WRX in my manual WRX?

As the title says, was there any difference in the auto WRX lump that prevents me putting it in a manual one? Thanks for your help

If anything the auto gearbox has given it an easier life Just make sure it's out of a similar year car

If anything will have had a slightly easier life than a like for like manual, as the auto boxes are kinder during gear changes.

If its a classic the auto's dont have a modine oil cooler.

and if you wanted to fit the modine then you would have to replace the water pump as the non modine engines dont have the coolant pipes that go to it

comp ratio is different according to some websites but its a direct fit and will run with a manual gearbox and ecu.
