Default Recommend me a car...

Hey lads, here's the story. I'm looking to get a new car as i've got a bit of money to spend. Around £5000. Since i passed my test 2 years ago ive had a Subaru Justy, Saxo VTR and i'm currently driving a Toyota Starlet Glanza Turbo. Just don't like the look of the starlet anymore and fancy something different.
This is what the criteria needs to fitt.

1. Needs to be a bit nippy
2. Need to be able to insure it, so dont you all say an impreza lol (I'm 19 in July and will hopefully have 2 years no claims)
3. Needs to be cool and not too common
4. Needs to do decent MPG

What are your suggestions guys as i looked at everything now!

Was considering a 182 but hate the interior and their pretty common around here. A turbo 2000 be to uneconomical for me

Any of these which ive had myself should suit your criteria--- fiesta st, civic type r, clio 182, focus st170 (cheap), ibiza cupra r, or leon r, golf gti turbo. All are good cars but as for insurance i dont know what theyll cost for you but as you have a glanza then you should beable to get cover on them.

Subaru nippy?

if Subaru nippy it wont be easy to insure because of its potential to thieves

unfortunately cars like this will not have exclusivity

unfortunately cars like this will not have a decent mpg.

have you considered a D-Turbo?

Yeah i quite fancy a type r as i'd like to stay Jap to be honest. All depends on the insurance though i suppose.

No not subaru nippy, my glanza is roughly 145bhp so around 180+ would be fine.
Keep the ideas coming guys

Hello mate ,

I Think The Smart fortwo Brabus ticks All your boxes does 50 Mpg, 74 bhp pretty nippy.
You can buy a 05-06 low mileage 5-6 k. Will save you so much money on petrol mate

Read the OP. He's 19. He could drop £2000 on a WRX/UK Turbo and **** the rest against the wall in insurance. And he's my "adopted " son .

Ian, the MR-poo Turbo would **** the poor boy up if there's any ounce of damp on the ground!

Ryan, I would whole heartidly (sp?) consider a 172/182 Cup! Have a pop down to mine to see the mrs' new one, absolutely mint to drive! With the money you save, get some uprated brakes and a few other styling mods
