Default advice needed

Hi all I sold a sti rear spoiler for a classic model last week after the buyer had bid me down a few quid wrapped it up had it sent after a lot of messing trying to find a courier that would take it due to the size 3 days later he informs me it doesn't fit due to him having a new-shape. My add shows the car it came off.
Email form buyer Hi bud received spoiler yesterday unpacked today and it will not fit my model I did ask if it would before buying but unfortunately it does not fit my model please advise cheers :-)
Am I at fault or was it his mistake, reason I ask money was spent on my scoob also hes wanting a refund, which I would if I had it still.
I have no problem refunded but i just haven't the funds at the moment to do so
Am not moaning and trying to get out of a refund just his mistake has caused me a lot of hassle.
Any advice would be appreciated.

If you clearly stated/showed what model it came off then it's his mistake.
Phone him and advise that you will not be refunding as the advert was clear, etc.
Some people just take the pi*s mate, forget about it.

I had this before from Ebay. I bought a spoiler advertised for a classic, went and picked it up (Nottingham) had a good chat with the bloke cup of tea etc, told him it was going onmy classic which I drove up to collect it in. I get it home, take off my low level spoiler to find the new one wouldn't fit! When I spoke to him he said it was for a bugeye and would fit a classic with work! Why the f**k he didn't tell me when I was at his I don't know

If it was explained clearly what model it was for then his mistake etc. Don't leave things up to peoples common sense as a lot of people don't use it when its required

If you offer a refund, make sure they pay for the postage back (non refunded) and only send money if its in as good a condition as it was when you originally sent it.

It doesn't say what car the spoiler is for in the advert, I guess as it's red it's deduced that it's from the red classic in the picture........did you tell him it would fit his car as mentioned in his e-mail ??

I see it's for sale by the new owner.......

All's well that ends well, looks like the spoiler has been sold on.......

https://www.scoobynet.com/subaru-par...t-spoiler.html

As neatrags has accepted an offer he has taken legal title over the spoiler so SLAB is in the clear......unless SLAB decides he wants the spoiler back LOL

LOLOL He didn't ask if he did he would have email in his sent, all he asked is would i drop it to £110 delivered,
If he had asked we wouldn't be in the situation hes in now am not out to make a fast buck selling wrong bits to people on here, i make a few quid here and there to fund the car ive been tying to get on the road for the last years, Am honest and wouldn't try to con anyone.
Looks like he sold it on now so all is well.
