Default Diff/Gearbox Fluid Change.

Hi all,

Just looking for some info on what intervals people change the diff and gearbox fluids.

From my knowledge mine has never been changed in either case. Having now covered 71K would it be a good idea to get it done? Or is it a case that if nothings wrong then leave it alone?

Cheers all

Both should be done every 3 years/30,000 miles expensive items to replace compared to the amount the oil costs.

That's lucky, have owed the car from 44K so I'll get it booked in.

If you've owned the car since 44k miles, why have you not been following the manufacturer's service schedule. The diff and gearbox oils would have been done at 60k if you had. You have to be careful as you don't want that old sludge knackering your box or diffs. Get it done asap me ol' china.

I get it serviced every 6-8k. After a bit of digging I've just seen it did get done when I bought the car from the steelers at 44k. Never the less its getting booked in on monday
