Default Realistic price

It is time to part with my scooby as a company car is on the way.

I have a 02 WRX estate in blue, 3 owners from new, 77,000 miles, full Subaru service history. Just had two new tyres, full service and MOT.

Car is standard apart from full stainless and pro drive headlight conversion.

In the current climate what do you think it is worth. I don't want to advertise and have it sitting around for ages.

I have had it 9 months and bought it as a stop gap. It's a great car and has been used daily never letting me down.

All comments appreciated before I put it up for sale. Cheers

If you look on autotrader you will see there are lots available. These cars aren't selling like they used to.
Realistically, if you want to sell it you should be looking at about £3250. Maybe £3500 if it's really tidy.
Remember, just because there are many others priced higher it doesn't mean they are selling. Also, the wagon appeals to a smaller market compared to the saloon so that is something to think about.
Your car sounds a nice one and in a good colour so maybe try at the upper price first and see how you go, you can always drop the price after a couple of weeks if it's not getting any interest.

Yep have to say mate from my own extensive search just now cars are just not shifting at all, look at the amount on ebay, pistonheads etc that are ending unsold, unfortunatly its a buyers market. eg. 2002 bugeye, 3 owners from new, 54k on clock, fssh. totally untouched from new apart from original prodrive rear spoiler and exhaust just sold for £2900 locally, the owner originally had it at 3900 and did not have one g-e-n-u-i-n-e enquiry !!! in the two months he had it up for sale !!

as you are aware the insurance / road tax and petrol is killing the market, I honestly dont know how the specialised sports car sellers ie. imports subaru places etc can still be open these days especially at the prices they advertise at !!

very best off luck with sale. personally would sign up for a full membership on here to enable you to advertise your car, take some really good clear close up pics off the car and price it around £3250 this way you should still get your £3k after a bit off haggling from the buyer !!!

a lot off bugeye owners are now breaking there cars and selling the parts seperatly which would be a sin on cars like your own but its a sad fact that older subs are sometimes worth more in parts than sold complete !!

again thou very best off luck with your sale.

Cheers guys. Always good to get some input.

If it does not sell I will just keep it. It's a fantastic car for the money and has been so reliable I am reluctant to give it away.

I might just get my wife to sell her car and keep mine lol!

another idea, what i did recently is offer a trade, i have traded the last 4 of my cars and found i got over £1000 more in value through a swap with another car, if you offered a swap for something more sellable, you will find it easier to shift. Would be easier in my opinion to swap the car for say a golf or bmw worth say 4 - 5k then to take £3k cash.
I recently did a deal two weeks ago where i px'd my bmw 330d against a scooby on for £7500, the bmw was only worth £3500 - £4k on the book, and i paid just £700 ontop cash. so in theory made an extra £3300 value on top. If you are open to offers its worth it, whats more, on sites like piston heads you can search in the advanced search bar for px - putting in things like wrx, turbo, yes, maybe, why, sports, scooby, subaru etc to find lists of other cars for sale which are looking for a motor like yours.
