Question Anyone use one of these?

These were advertised in last months Banzai mag and im wondering if anyone has one or what anyone thinks of them. Im looking to purchase one myself and they seem to be good value.

what are your thoughts?

I've not used one but looked into them in the past, seem pretty decent for the money really. At the time i wanted one so i could get instant MPG to help improve my eco driving skills but never had 100quid spare to blow on one.

Its a shame i cant get to see one from a shop as i would get a better idea of size and quality, but for the amount of functionality it has its got to be worth a punt no?

I'm surprised that ive not seen any mention of it here in the past as it seems to be a good gadget and with the added bonus of fault code reading and clearing, its got to be a useful as a tool too?

Got one fitted in my hawk STI. Pretty good piece of kit, much nicer than numerous gauges. Very useful for checking codes and clearing them.

Are you sure it actually works in a classic? I'm not.
Isn't the protocol different (not true OBD2)

Mines an MY99 face lift and the diagnostics kit that was used at subaru 4 You plugged straight in and came up with more info than that little gauge can handle, so it (the scan gauge)must be able to read the ecu?

Wonder if this would work on a classic JDM with a non standard ecu.

If this'll work on a Classic I'm in. My PSI3 died last year so this would be an ideal replacement at a pretty reasonable price.

Not sure mate you could try e-mailing scangauge, or find out from a supplier who might sell your ecu about the sort of connectivity it has..

I've hjad a reply from Robert at Scangauge-Direct. They don't actually sell this piece of kit anymore but he has given me the name of another Company to contact. I've e-mailed them and are awaiting a reply. If it works out, you should be able to contact them about fitment on different models.

Just noticed there is a firmware update for it but they want 25quid to do it! Wonder if they would throw that in for a group buy?

Used to run one in my Forester...........

Vehicle needs to be OBDII compliant so MY01 onwards and probably not JDM
(Has been tried and found not to work in MY06FSTi)
