High mileage okay on these?
My Bug WRX (2001) is now the wrong side of 100k and still feels nice and strong. I'm using it as my daily driver and I've done about 3k in the last 6-8 weeks alone but I'm going to try and cut that down.
Obviously there is a lot of expenditure in fuel (which is tax deductable for me). Now I don't really want to go for a diesel or anything so do you guys (or girls) think of any reason why this car shouldn't go on to do high mileage if I maintain it well?
I haven't seen many high mileage Subarus so I don't know of their durability long term. Luckily all running costs and fuel are 80% tax deductable due to me being self employed.
It's a bit of a random thread I guess but I just wanted your opinions before I do something I'll regret.

Like you said m8, if you maintain properly then there should be no issues, obviously things will go eventually thats a given, my STI7 is now on 95000 miles and still had no issues, hasn't failed the MOT either, and it's still on it's original clutch!!! Just keep servicing and enjoy

Mine is on original box and clutch but it's been a rep mobile all it's life so most of the mileage is motorway and I rarely launch it hard. Be interesting to see how long it lasts.

My 56 plate STi Spec D has just hit 121,000. The only problems I've had were headgasket failure at 70,000 and the H/G have just gone again, but that is a problem that the 2.5lt are well known for. Just changing the original clutch and flywheel while the engine is out, but the clutch needed replacing. Two sets of rear struts, again a well known problem.
In short, yours should cope well with high mileage as long as you take care of it. High mileage tends to be motorway mileage so not a massive strain on the mechanicals. I'm lucky to live in Wales, so there is a fair amount of back road/A road/mountain road mileage mixed with the motorway stuff - although I never pushed too hard on those roads obviously
