Got My Scooby at Last
After a lot of wheeling and dealing eventually managed to get back to owning a Scooby this week.
Standard WRX Blobeye with 18" Alloys. A couple of little trolley dings and a bumper scuff to fix but other than that I think she's in not too bad nick for 90K miles.
Managed to pick this one up for £3.8K with FSH so didn't break the bank either and hopefully leave me a few pennies in my pocket to slowly add a few wee mods here and there:-

I hope so LOL.
Time will tell I suppose.
I wont be doing many miles, probably less than 5K per year so the mileage wasn't a big issue as long as the FSH was there which this one had.

Possibly an STI rear Spoiler and Prodrive Backbox are the first mods in mind.
Maybe a DV and boost gauge.
Don't really want to play around with the engine mapping wise as at that mileage I'm not sure how well or long it or the other bits would cope?

Yeah wasn't convinced on the idea of DV and heard of a few problems people have had after fitting them. Think I'll just stick with the cosmetics as I really like the way it drives in standard format. Just toddling along it as quiet and refined as my Toledo V5 was, but give it some licks and it rips your head off lol.

So how long have you had yours now and hows it been?
Like mines probably coming up for a cambelt change soon which is how I managed to negotiate the price down a bit?

Looks spot on mate and good to find a completely standard model as well as then you can tweak as you see fit
I bought my 03 blobeye completely standard 15 months ago with 65k on the clock and have put 20k on since then. I got an STI spoiler and would recommend you colour code your side skirts as well as it transforms the look of the car (I can post some before/after pics if you want to see the difference) I also added 18" rims to finish the look although when funds permit I will add a front splitter.
I know you say you will leave the engine standard (I did) but you will change your mind in time as we all do and I have just modded up to 270 bhp with a remap and supporting mods which makes a bi difference to how the car drives :-) high mileage shouldn't be an issue as long as the engine has been looked after

There are a couple of options with the side skirts. You can either get your existing ones primed & sprayed which is what I did and paid £200 or buy a second hand set of STI skirts for around the same money. I went for option a as I didn't want to spend £200 on second hand STI skirts that would then require a respray.
I will post up the pics shortly mate

Looking very tidy, but could do with a slight drop to fill the arch gap
Colour coding the skirts will be about £150 for a proper job based upon the quotes I've had

Cheers mate - looks really good and can't see a huge difference between them and STI ones tbh so might just go for spraying mine then. What colour of mudflaps did you go for? Have heard they're a bit of a sod to fit?

I got my local bodyshop to fit them and for £40 it was worth it rather than having the hassle of doing it myself

Cheers Sweden.
Yeah it's a hell of a lot of car for the money and picking up a Blob sub £4K has to be a bargain. As long as you do your homework there's some crackers out there.
