Brake Pads JDM Bug
I have a JDM bug, I need some new pads. They have the **** 2pots on and Ive been quoted £90 for a set of subaru genuine ones. Bit steep I thought. Can I get some cheaper? or Do I just pick some 4pot subaru calipers and discs?
If anyone can help that would be great. Thanks Kev

Hi Kev personally i would go for 4pots with good pads(i sold few weeks ago Subaru 4pots with almost new EBC Blue stuff NDX,Grooved and drilled discs for £200),but good pads for your brakes are Mintex i've used them on on few cars and happy with them, but personally i would go for DS2500 or EBC Blue Stuff NDX or even Red stuff you can pick up cheaply from eBay or Camskill..

If your not running a highly tuned car then the standard OE style pads from either Aztec or godspeed are very good, I have a set in my 333 bhp Spec D and there really good. I paid £40.00 inc P&P and that was for Brembo style calipers! so I would have thought that the 2 pots where even cheaper.

Yeah I know, I think i just want ones to stick in to get me by until I get the brembos or Ksports. I cant actually believe they allowed to produce a car with those 2 pots, they are about as useful as Ann Franks drum kit.

About the brakes, yes Brembo is wise option and i will recommend, but if its budget tight go for 4pots with good pads and discs(Bob@Aztec performance or Ian@Goodspeed Brakes selling good combos for £99)..
Now about the pads,i would recommend speak with Bob or Ian about the brakes and pads, but personally i would go at least for EBC Red stuff, here is link, part number is DP1134

Or you can contact CRN Brakes, which are really helpful guys and Ollie will sort you good deal on brakes discs with pads.

Cheers Jura, some good advice there for the OP
Caliper upgrade to either Subaru 4 Pots (good option) or STi Brembo (better option) is well worthwhile.
Can happily supply you any EBC pads, Mintex, Pagid, Ferodo or Performance Friction if required at great prices as well as a wide range of disc options.
Can also supply pads for your current setup if needed with options from just £29.99.
Give me a call for a chat/prices/details

Yeah I managed to source some of the 2 pot breaks from my local parts place. The part number was DP1134 and they dont fit. They are to wide to clip onto the top and bottom slots. Hmm whats that all about.
