I'm currently looking into running the 3rd Scoobynet Karting event this year at either Rye House, Hoddesdon, Herts or Buckmore Park, Chatham, Kent.
The costs are as follows
3hr Enduro in Thunderkarts
Rye House £ 250 per team (Minimum 15 Teams)
Rye House Dates are 26th May, 8/9 June with a Maximum of 20 Teams.
www.deavinsons.co.uk
Buckmore Park £ 329 per team (Minimum 12 Teams)
www.buckmore.co.uk
My intention would be to run the event late May/early June on a weekend.
What I need is a virtual show of hands to judge if its worthwhile getting more information regarding dates and if so which circuit would be prefered.
Thoughts ????

Oh go on then - should have just about recovered from the previous one then.....
Preference? Not fussed. Driven Rye House twice, but not Buckmore, so there's an argument for both!

I'd probably be up for it, and should be able to scrape a team together. £330 per team is a bit on the steep side though.
Best not to make it Sunday 2nd June - there's a minor sporting event occuring in Saitama, Japan on that day...

Who has the better fleet of karts?
Rye House were talking about replacing theirs about now, but apparently they've been talking about it for a few years!

I haven't run in either venues hire karts for quite some time, but historically Buckmore do tend to have nicer karts.

Buckmore should have nicer karts if they charge £79 more per team. My team is up for either but would definetly prefer the cheaper option as we maybe running 2x3 man teams instead of 1x6 man team so over a ton each is a bit hefty.
The fact the other circuit is more central for a lot of peeps is also a bonus - its 45 miles from Cambridge instead of 85 for Buckmore.

Rye House looks favourite to me, other option is a bit too costly! We'll be looking for improvement over Daytona fininshing position this time too
Oh, and as a member of P1Fanatic's Team, 26th May preferred :-)

A Barbie at Sal's ....so obvious when you put it like that
So Sal how do you feel about 100-140 people descending on your house for big eats then ????
I'll check with Rye House tomorrow and pay the deposit for the 26th.....Please God we get 15 Teams or I'm out of pocket !

Can't There's an inter-F1 karting race on the 25th, and then I'm helping to marshall a rally in Cambridgeshire on the Sunday. I might be able to get some other boys in yellow to come along though

Jeff,
That's the great thing about Rye House. You don't need to pay a deposit. They will take the money directly off the teams. I have a few other nuggets you may want about Rye House but I'll mail them to you.
