Question

I want to buy an Impreza (turbo 4 door) but cant decide what to get. I Have a max budget of £10k. I have seen some UK cars (96 plate) with low mileage and FSH which are tempting but there are also the tempting Jap cars with a bit more go in them. Can anyone offer me some advice or experience that you may have had. All help greatly appreciated
TIA
Rich

Yep, insurance is a pain in the ***, but I bought a Japanese Import and never looked back
The other thing is service history, mine came with a full Japanese history and had only just come to the UK so I kept it up on the UK side......

Personal preference, try each one out, but budget for insurance, always get quotes first.......

For £10K you'll get a lot more than a MY96. I got a MY99 Uk Turbo 29000 miles in September for £10600.

Happy hunting

Insurance will be the same or only slightly more than a UK car, you just have to shop around a bit and even then you can probably get a head start right here....

For the age of car you are looking at I would say go for the WRX, you get more power, aircon as standard, folding electric wing mirrors, electric retracting aerial and generally the interior has a better colour scheme.

Servicing can be a problem on an import but there are plenty of specialists out there - Dave West is not far from you in Princes Risborough and he has been servicing my WRX for nearly 3 years! There are a few others I believe in the area too.

Hope this helps,

Richard

p.s. I am biased as I have a 94 WRX that I have had for nearly 3 years, but I never had a problem with it - insurance/servicing/performance. BTW it is also for sale now so let me know if you are interested and you won't have to spend all of that 10K....unles you want to

Northern Ireland. £200 costs to get there on Easyjet and back on the ferry plus taxi and fuel. It's a great drive back from Stranrar (spelling)
