You can get locking roof bars for the original shape Impreza from a dealer, made by Mont Blanc and badged as Subaru. A top box would fit onto these I presume.
They are a total pain to fit the first time, due to sealant under the brackets on the roof, but it does get easier as you get used to them. But not by much.
