Question

Does anyone know if the plastic bolts that hold the number plate on screw into captive nuts? I can't seem to get my hand into the box section bracket and don't want to lose the nuts if they are loose in there.

Thanks.

Yes I think that they do, albeit when I tried to get mine out, they wouldn't come and sheared off!

I just drilled holes in a different place on the new plate and screwed straight into the plastic with self tappers, and added a bit of tape for good measure - hasn't budged an inch.

Yes - they screw into plastic blocks which have threaded holes.

To remove the plastic blocks you need a 'security torx' fitting .

BEWARE !! There is a small rectangular metal plate with a threaded hole inside the plastic mounts. I spent 3 days tring to get the bugger back in again when it fell out

Bought some Torx drivers . . . still couldn't shift the bolts

My friendly dealer did it for me in the end

just remove the front grill (clips off)and you can get to the rectangular plate no probs.
on the rear you can reach it anyway
my plastic screws snapped in, but you just drill them out with a small drill bit once you have removed the plate.
any car parts place should have new plastic screws for about 10p.

Thanks for the replies guys - just wondering about moving the plate up a little to show more of the main air intake and make the car look a bit different.

You could always et a smaller front plate and put that on instead. I got one from Grahame Goode nd it looks fantastic.

Use double sided tape. I used this on my bike and my Scooby, they dont come off unless physically ripped off.

Or try these for new plates:-

Or even go buy the kit to make them up :-)
