Default Coolant problem while filling

Arite guys got a wee problem.

Fitted a new radiator and have started refilling the system. Filling coolant via a funnel through header tank to turbo hose (Very very slowly) now after just 3 litres the header tank is full. Must have an airlock but have tried squeezing bottom and top hoses to try and get rid but no joy. Even tried starting the car to try and purge air out but it just got hot very quickly so just turned it off again. Did notice the bottom hose was hot and top was cold Coolant doesnt seem to be recirculating at all.

Any ideas?

Cheers

When I started the car to try and purge the air out the block got hot mega quick, top rad hose was cold and bottom was hot? Cap was off and coolant was pouring out the header tank even though there is no where near the 7 litres in it. Sound like an air lock?

carry on filling as you were and top up header tank as well, run the motor aswell but switch the heaters on full blast on recirc ,and have the blowers pointed at the windscreen,it still takes ages but it works, when the air comes out hot switch off and allow to cool off and air to come out of the system, then top up and repeat until no more air comes out and temp gauge reads normal,it getting the water round to the matrix thats normally the problem.
