Default Rattling Problem

I have had alot of work done and noticed a weird rattling problem like a heat shield noise when in lower revs in 3rd,4th etc pulling off.

I have had all the heat shield checked and they are fine.

My garage seem to think its the heat shield under the turbo which is the only one he didnt check.

I have noticed there is some movement on the Radiator and when you give it a little nudge it does have some give (no idea if that is normal) or should the Rad be very secure with zero give?

I have had a new headgasket and didnt change the header bolts or bearing as the SUBARU garage said it wasnt needed so didnt bother but i have read that these things can go but would that make a rattling noise in the lower revs when putting strain on the engine?

the noise is getting on my nerves now and the garage just cant find where its coming from so any ideas would be a great help.

thanks

Is all the heat shields still fitted to your exhaust system? these can come loose and rattle along with the shields on the headers. I have the same problem and will be fittting some new heat wrapped headers along with my prodrive sports cat to hopefully cure the problem.

Heat shields are the bane of my life, when mine goes in next week getting the lot ripped off. Never had a car that didnt develop a rattle from them

Remember they are there for a reason, have them replaced by either heat wrap or ceramic coating.

I'll be honest I drive a sport, is it really going to make much difference. Is it not to aid airflow by retaining the heat in the exhaust in the same way heat wrap would.

Also the heat shields on mine are such thin metal(hence the rattle I guess) that I couldn't see how they would retain any heat.

Interested to know because whenever I go to a garage to get the rattles sorted they always just cut them off and say "there you go, no charge" and I go away happy and rattle free. I asked the guy this time to leave them on and try to get rid of the rattle which he did but no its back with a vengeance
