I've been seriously thinking about buying a 22B. I recently came into a few quid and have thought about what to do with it. Buy another house, invest it with bank etc.
I can't see me losing any money if I were to buy a 22 and just park it in my barn with a cover on it. Think the value is only ever going to go one way.

I do love these adverts that say they still have the original tyres on, I wouldnt want to even try to drive on 13 year old tyres to start with if I spent 31k on a car

It can't be a coincidence that I saw 2 22B's in protective tents at Car Planet in Warrington about 6 months ago.

We went in looking for a Fozzy S Turbo, left with a Legacy B4 RSK but I couldn't help looking at the the pair of Impreza 22B's in the tents (not for sale). Currently beyond my means and I couldn't even consider one without a garage and a guard dog but it doesn't stop me wanting one. The only thing that comes close is an RB320.

On the same theme, last time I serviced the car at Monks Heath Subaru in Cheshire they had an F40 in the showroom with 5000 miles on the clock. That really is a car for the lottery win. I'll have to upload the pictures sometime.

The F40 is my favourite car of all time. I've been lucky and seen 3 on the road (one of which overtook me on full chat coming back from the NEC).
I would have a bet that the break downs on top gear were staged, I know I wouldn't let STIG take my F40 round the track on the limit

Perhaps this will be way for high performance motors in the future with high fuel prices. Just a small number of very special and highly desirable limited editions.

I have read threads before about having these two and just storing them...people were pi$$ed off that you weren't using them. I say good luck to you mate- just nice to own something as rare as that really. Hope they go to good homes Blu Scoob, any plans to replace them with something else?

I really enjoyed the Top Gear piece on the F40 and 959, had posters of both on the wall as a kid. I'm pretty sure that the whole breaking down thing was staged so that there wouldn't be any comparisons against current supercars, the owners probably didn't want to spoil peoples memories of these cars (and they keep appreciating in value).

I think the F40 at Monks Heath sold for about £400k!

You were lucky to be able to own two 22B's as good as that.
How much were new UK 22B's back in 1998? I remember someone having one brand new local to me.

Theres a bloke lives a few doors down from me has a white XR3i that's immaculate. Hes owned it from new.

A few weeks after he got it he was involved in a pretty bad motorbike accident. He was in a wheel chair for a long time and had to learn how to walk again.

The car sat in his garage unused for years.

He uses it pretty much daily now, it has about 60k on the clock. But it really is mint and totally standard. Cant be many like that kicking about now.
