No symptoms before it either?

Sounds like it *may* be a bad earth connection somewhere, or possibly the negative terminal of the battery is loose.

Bit of a longshot, but worth checking earth connections/leads and battery terminals.

Have you had the battery disconnected or car in for work recently? sounds like the earth or even the positive, check and tighten each plus the earth from the battery to the bodywork. Might be worth cleaning up earthing point at the same time.

Fuel blockage?

Cars running, loss of power (fuel not getting through in the right quantity), dash lights flicker (stalling) and cuts out (no fuel for combustion). Blockage clears itself pressure come back and away you go!

Fuel surge - if not electrical?

i used to get this in my MY99 with 1/3rd of a tank or less fuel, going round a left then right hand bend. Felt like someone had turned the engine off then it cut back in, only lasted for a second or two until the pump picked up some more fuel and it was off as usual again.

If it is this then either slow down during cornering or keep the tank above a third full
