Default HOW MUCH!!!!!!!!

I am shocked to my very core!!!!! My insurance is now up for renewal, I knew insurance has risen recently but surely not that much right?

WRONG!!!!

Spoke to my broker earlier, has gone up over 800 bucks, I will now be paying more to insure my car now than when I first got it nearly 3 years ago. My broker explained that the compay that they used to insure my car no longer insure scoobs or performance cars, there next competitor could insure me for the bargain price of £1500 yes that's right not a typo £1500!!!!! Last year was £680!!!

So phoned about, A Plan don't insure on scoobs if under 28, but they did pull some strings for me but still came out at £1200. NOTE these last 2 quotes are for an un modified STANDARD impreza.

So tried Sky, still expencive but so far the cheapest, £1046 with all mods declared on a like for like basis, so may begrudgingly go for that. Going to give Keith Michaels a call tomorrow to see the out come but dont have high hopes.

I actually can't believe the ridiculous premiums were having to pay, I can see the appeal that young drivers have for not getting insurance, as wrong as it is, it wont be long before we are all forced to follow in there footsteps.

Rant over. Phew good to get that off my chest, any one having the same trouble?

PS I have 3 points on my licence from 2007 and no accidents either, and 27 with 8 years no claims so WTF!!

Rant Officialy over now lol

27 years old, 3 points, never had a claim, 5 years no claim bonus. All mods declared.

£723 per year.

Trade policy with tradewise, and no you don't need to prove that your a trader. I'm insured to drive anything third party and all cars that are 'under my control' are insured fully comp. Can also have 10 cars registered with insurer so ANPR system won't flash up as uninsured.
'under my control' means cars that I own or cars that I am selling.

I've got a joint business/pleasure policy in for my workshop which is around 2.9k[Mechanical/body workshop with 4 employee's] but only £285 of that is my scoob and im 27 also.
All cars whether my own or not with owners permission to drive are fully comp at all times!
My broker is Caleb Roberts and the policy is with Aviva.

£925 a year for a hawkeye sti type uk, 9 years no claims bonus, 34yrs old and car is garaged.
Christian at Keith Micheals sorted it, top guy id recommend him. Still pricey but some of the other companies were quoting silly money and i couldve bought a 2nd STI for what they wanted.

I feel sorry for the first time drivers of today. I remember how much my first car cost to insure, Imagine what it's like now.
I once paid £2500 for an Evo 3 when I was 20. Crazy amount of money but was worth it. My friends were all driving Nova's and Astras and I rolled up in an Evo.

Its funny as i remember paying £1495 for a fiesta RS turbo when i had just turned 18 which at the time i thought **** me but like you said when your mates are driving 1.3's and 1.4's it was hell of a feeling to have a motor with alot more grunt

From what my broker told me, where you live can make a huge difference.

Mate , mine went from £600 fully comp to £2396.00 fully comp. 5 yrs no claim bonus, 28 yrs young and a clean liscense. F££k that. After 3 weeks of searching and a bit of playing them off one another I got it for £700 fully comp with privelage. I also found adding a named driver reduced the premium by £200 ish...WTF. Tracker and cat one alarm imob helped aswell. Even Gary at KM couldnt beat this ( Thanx for trying ) . Hope this helps in your quest for cheap insurance

I've heard that adding a female onto the policy helps for some reason. My friend added his wife on (she would never be allowed to drive it though) and it dropped his price by over £100.

I got my STi just over a month ago, paid an extra £200 with my existing policy with Sky insurance. Was only about 2 months into the policy and paid £750 initially for my DC5

I'm 24 with 5 years NCB but living in a very good post code.

Officially Sky don't insure under 25's but as i already had a policy and history of performance cars they were able to accommodate me!

Insurance companies are getting worse, now it's not a pop at Keith Micheals as they are a broker and have no control on what insurance companies say but seriously can't get insurance because I don't park my car on a drive what a crock of S**T. Insurance companies are getting f*****g rediculus. My car would have the same chance getting nicked on a drive as it would parked out side my house. One thing I really don't understand is how everyone can get insured but honestly how many people on here have a drive they can park on and still get insurance!!

I'm with Gary, have been 5 years. I don't have a driveway or garage, never have had one.

My renewal came through the other day, no change in price.

Give him a ring, what's the worst that can happen? You'll waste a few minutes of your time. 0208 2880275
