What you had: 215/40 17" is the accepted size to give you as close as possible to the original rolling radius, so your speedo and gearing remains the same, plus no rubbing.

I had that size on mine with a caravan on the towbar, three teenaged lads in the rear of the car and FOUR MTBs on the roof and no rubbing

I would stick with the 215 40 17s mate, the rubbing really is very minimal.. and I've noticed no wear on them as a result of it. As mentioned before they are as close as possible to the original rolling radius too.

The Falkens are holding up well on general use, they perform well in the wet and dry. Plus they don't seem to wear as much as the bridgestones on our hawkeye or the set of Kumho ecstas that I had before..

They even pulled me through the snow when I was on call this christmas!!! didn't get stuck once!! lol

think they come in at around £70.00 a corner or so, They're good for everyday use but i'm not sure how they would react in a track day situation. If your planning on doing any that is?? hope this helps..

I run 225/40/18 on my STI V3 with AST Coilovers. Don't get any rubbing what-so-ever.
