none of it will help the drivetrain whatsoever.

I know any type of launch won't help the tranny, but i was wondering what does more damage to the clutch as the 6 speed box can take launches all day.

Either can destroy it, How long is a piece of string? If your unlucky like me your end up wrecking 1st gear

i don't launch it all the time, say a bit of a blast back from fueling up around midnight. I think id rather just let the clutch up quickly than sidestep it.

Its a gamble that no one can realy answer, depends on the tyres too , high quality tyres that dont let much slip will coz less traction and more shock on the final drive, its just not worth it, i ended up replacing the clutch on mine after the first big launch, replaced with a good quality clutch but not doing anymore side step launch.

I tried a full bore launch in my latest car, my53 STi, 1st time it worked well but then the second time it went wrong and I could smell clutch for about an hour after.

I was done in because I'd caused my baby harm - I felt well guilty I dunno why

I haven't done it since

Know where your coming from pal on this one use to have a civic type r supercharged took it to santa pod and stripped the teeth on second gear,if i decide to do this with me subaru, will probebly get a stronger clutch put in and maybe just have one run up the strip, just wanna see if me sti is any faster than the civicthink it could be pretty close.
